TZ Converter collects no data. It makes no network requests, contains no analytics or tracking, and sends nothing off your device. Everything it does runs locally in your browser.
What the extension does
TZ Converter converts timezones. You select a time on a web page, or enter one in the popup, and it shows the equivalent time in the zones you choose. All parsing and conversion happens on your device.
Data we collect
None. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data or usage data. There is no server, no account, and no telemetry.
Data stored on your device
The extension saves your preferences using the browser's own storage:
- Your home timezone and chosen target timezones
- 12- or 24-hour clock preference
- Theme (System / Light / Dark)
- How to treat a date with no time
- Any custom date formats you add
This data lives only in your browser. If you have browser sync enabled, your browser may sync it across your own devices through your browser account — we never see it and have no access to it. Uninstalling the extension removes it.
Permissions
-
storage— to remember the preferences listed above, locally. - Access to web pages — the "select to convert" feature needs to run on the page you are reading so it can read the text you select and show a popover. It reads only your active selection to parse a time; it does not read, collect, or send page content.
Third parties
There are no third parties. The extension bundles all its code at build time and loads nothing from the network at runtime.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
